The drummer joined Against Me! shortly after he was ousted from Madball and following the departure of Against Me!'s former sticksman, George Rebelo.

Jay issued the news on facebook::

"I want to let you all know that I am leaving Against Me!, and I wish them all the best."

Jay's decision comes while Agains Me! are in the midst of recording a new album and just weeks before they tour Australia with Big Day Out.

Against Me! are now searching for a replacement drummer.
