In October 1993, Hugo Pinksterboer, author of the often acclaimed \'The Cymbal Book\', interviewed Art Taylor. How little did he know he was one of the last persons to have such an extensive interview with one of the most sought of jazz drummers in the fifties and early sixties. Having recorded classic albums such as John Coltrane\'s \'Giant Steps\' and Miles Davis\' \'Miles Ahead\', he was not a great technician, not an innovator, but one of the most down to earth, hard swinging and inspired drummers that ever lived, with a great sense of humor and spirit, in music and in life. Passionate, in every sense of the word. As a tribute, we present the interview that Mr. Taylor did with Hugo Pinksterboer in October 1993.Solo albums
