Power rock trio Fiction Plane, featuring Pete Wilhoit on drums, will releases their first-ever live dvd and cd package on March 23. Simply entitled \'Paradiso\', the live recording will be released through XIII Bis Records.\"We’ve never liked live albums that were faked. When we play live, it is not a recital of our live recordings. We do everything we can to put on the best show for the crowd every night.\"
\'Paradiso\' is offered in three packages. One set consists of a DTS Surround Sound dvd of the show and two cds featuring the entire audio performance.
Special features on the dvd include the unedited version of the It’s A Lie (directed by Sumner’s brother Jake), and a photo gallery comprised of images taken along the band’s touring journey. The dvd will also be available separately, as will a limited edition Blu-Ray disc.
The dvd/cd set filmed by Fabchannel was mixed by Ash Howes (Kylie Minogue, James Morrison, Eurythmics) and mastered by Andy Walters (U2, The Cure, Radiohead) at Abbey Road.
Many bands treat live dvd releases like a contractual obligation – another piece of product that brings them one step closer to fulfilling their contract. However, Fiction Plane is among those rare artists who go above and beyond, offering something more than a piece of plastic and metal. \'Paradiso\' will initially be distributed to retailers in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Fans outside those territories will be able to purchase the release through Fiction Plane’s official web store and at the band’s live shows.
