Nicholas Blossom, the 21-year-old drummer of an unsigned indie band called Alaska Alaska, has survived a nasty fall from a balcony in which his head became impaled on a spiked metal fence.

According to the police report, Nicholas was intoxicated at a party in New York City when he fell from a third-floor balcony at around 4 am Saturday.
The drunken drummer landed headfirst on the fence of the second-floor balcony of an adjoining building.
Rescuers used an electric saw to detach Nicholas from the fence. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where the rest of the metal was successfully removed.
Luckily the drummer survived surgery and was soon laughing and joking with his family from his intensive care bed, to the amazement of doctors.
