\"He just couldn\'t go anymore. He had blisters on top of blisters on top of blisters, and problems holding the sticks. Poor guy.\"
Michelle Churchill, Logen\'s friend and coach during his drumming marathon, says is was nerve-wrecking at times:
\"At about 7 p.m. Monday we almost lost him. He forgot how to play and was getting light-headed. I was crying so bad because he worked so hard. On his break he got some fresh air and a little pep talk and got back into focus. And then he drummed for seven more hours.\"
Logen, owner of Akron\'s Federation of Drums and Percussion where he teaches group and private lessons, already holds two world records. At the Double Bass Marathon in Akron in 2005, he played a bass drum with both feet 160 beats per minute for 14 hours and 38 minutes. In 2006 at the same event, he did the same thing but 432 beats per minute for 10 and a half hours.
