Starting August 29, 2007, the DAD tour and the DAD mobile drum therapy center, will be featured at schools, major sporting events, shopping malls, entertainment award shows, music tours, and medical and education conferences throughout the United States.
About the DAD Program
DAD (Drums and Disabilities) is a Federal non-profit organization, that was originally launched as a piolot program in several New York City schools and communities, to help educate and inform special needs children, and their parents and teachers. The DAD Program is now featured in numerous schools and communities throughout the world. DAD also features lectures and workshops on the latest research, advice and teaching methods, to help parents and teachers raise and teach children with disabilities.
DAD is certified by the State Department of Education as an official special education teacher-training program. psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists, music therapists, and teachers of all subjects use, the DAD Program to help children with Autism, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Tourette’s, ODD, OCD, and Asperger’s Syndrome develop retention, coordination, self esteem, and physical and cognitive functioning. DAD founder/leader, Pat Gesualdo, is an award winning studio/touring drummer, author and clinician. Pat was nominated for Who\'s Who in America, Two Thousand Notable American Men, Men of Achievement as well as being an associate voting member for the Grammy Awards. His music and education columns have been read in music magazines and research journals throughout the world, including a very rare interview with former US president Ronald Regan while in office.
