Sad news: the 14th International Drummer Meeting in Koblenz, Germany, originally planned on 21 and 22 October 2006, will be canceled. Due to unexpected difficulties and the unavailability of five of the requested high profile artists, the organisation feels unable to produce this drum show as planned:\"The final deadline is gone and we could not get the necessary commitment and support from the artists and companies to carry on with the preparations. We are very sorry about the decision because we wanted to produce an unique show for the European drumming community.\"
As previously published on Drummerszone.com, the International Drummer Meeting initially announced an impressive line-up featuring greats like John Blackwell, Keith Carlock, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte, Virgil Donati, Dom Famularo, Josh Freese, Steve Gadd, Wolfgang Haffner, Omar Hakim, Rodney Holmes (photo), Herbert Jösch, Jonathan Moffett, and Steve Smith.
Hopefully 14th International Drummer Meeting will have more luck in 2007 and take place next year.
