Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum suffers a fractured hand as the result of a recent waterskiing accident and is now forced to cancel his appearance at the first shows of their upcoming headlining tour.

Drummer Brian Tichy (photo), known from Ozzy Osbourne, Slash\'s Snakepit and Pride & Glory, will be temporarily filling in for Sorum.
Tichy will be playing at least six shows with Velvet Revolver. He can\'t stay much longer as Tichy is scheduled to start the next run of Billy Idol shows in Canada on August 25.
Velvet Revolver\'s first show with Tichy starts August 11 in the stadium at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Meanwhile Matt Sorum is in physical therapy to resume playing with the band as soon as possible.
