Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) are set to release their fifth studio album, \'Beat The Devil’s Tattoo\', on March 9, 2010. It is the band’s first full-length featuring new drummer Leah Shapiro. The group\'s original timekeeper, Nick Jago, parted ways with the group in 2008. Leah, who was just on tour with The Raveonettes, became their new drummer. Nick stated:\"I just had dinner with Rob and Pete and, well, I\'m not in the band anymore. They are going into rehearsals tomorrow with Leah, she just finished touring with The Raveonettes and is super nice and cool. They presented it to me like they need a break, I took it as I am fired again and to be honest with you I respect their decision.\"
Leah rose to the challenge of joining an established act on the eve of a major European tour. She passed her trial by fire, but the unanswered question was how well she would fit into the band when it came to writing new material. Leah quickly dispelled any lingering doubts.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, nowadays consisting of bass guitarist-vocalist Robert Levon Been, guitarist-vocalist Peter Hayes and drummer Leah Shapiro, are primed to embark on a North American headline tour, kicking off February 26 in Sacramento and culminating at New York City’s Webster Hall on April 8.
Immediately following the band will head across the Atlantic for a string of shows in the UK and Europe.
