\'Warpaint\' also marks the official return of Steve Gorman. The drummer was fired prior to the band\'s announcement of their hiatus in January 2002.
Early 2005 The Black Crowes were set to play a string of sold-out New York City reunion shows, a pair of festival dates and a run of theater dates in the South and Northeast of the US.
Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitars) were the only original Black Crowes members remaining with the band. The touring line-up featured drummer Bill Dobrow - Rich Robinson\'s bandmate in Hookah Brown.
The new album features the recording debut of new guitarist Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars and keyboardist Adam MacDougall. They join original members Chris and Rich Robinson and drummer Steve Gorman, as well as bassist Sven Pipien.
The 11-track set was recorded at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, N.Y.. All songs are procued by Paul Stacey.
All of the tracks are Robinson brothers originals, except \"God\'s Got It,\" which was penned by the Reverend Charlie Jackson.
The Crowes will perform \'Warpaint\' in its entirety during a spring US run that will begin March 4, with dates to be announced. A world tour will follow, which kicks off March 24 at Australia\'s Byron Bay Festival.
