Promark offers a lot of new this year. We already knew about Glen Kotche's Active Wave 570 sticks, but Rich Redmond, Mike Portnoy, Anton Fig and Phil Collins also have new signature sticks. Next to that, Promark has new Mallet bags, stick holders and a stick bag. Also, the Reimagined Acorn Tip series have six new models in forward and rebound balance. To top it, these sticks are also available with the ActiveGrip coating - a heat activated grip solution. Elijah Navarro from D'Addario explains the ActiveGrip in the first video.
First, let us explain the difference between the Promark Forward Balance and Rebound Balance stick design.
Forward Balance sticks The Forward Balance sticks are best used for Rock, Metal & Country and are designed for power and speed. With Forward Balance models you optimize power and speed with the front-weighted feel of the sticks.
Rebound Balance sticks These are designed for finesse and agility and best used when playing Jazz, Funk or Gospel. The design of the Rebound balance sticks focus on a rear-weighted feel. Hence, playing should feel and sound lighter.
video 1: Reimagined Acorn Tips Now, knowing what the different sticks are, the Reimagined Acorn Tips are an addition to the well-known sticks from Promark with the Classic Teardrop Tip. They will also be available with the ActiveGrip coating from April 1st 2016.
