Music Group, holding company and corporate parent of Behringer, made its world debut with electronic drum sets at the Winter NAMM 2012 Show in Anaheim, California last month.
The Behringer XD Series drum kits are aimed at entry-level and mid-range and include four five-piece models: the XD60-LE, XD60-USB, XD70-USB and XD80-USB.
Behringer designed the XD series with a natural rubber surface, which mimics the feel of real skins and minimizes false triggering.
All kits feature sturdy extruded aluminum frames, which provide a solid foundation for the drum and cymbal pads.
Extensive sound libraries The XD Series drums are packed with libraries of drum, percussion and cymbal sounds. The ultra-compact XD60-LE or full-size XD60-USB feature 110 sounds each, and the XD70-USB and XD80-USB with 385 and 750 sounds respectively.
In addition to these offerings, the XD's midi capability enables the user to build their own library via external midi sound modules. The kits also feature the capability to program and store your favorite kits for instant recall.
EZDrummer Lite Plus library Behringer has included Toontrack's EZDrummer Lite Plus software with every XD kit. This multi-microphone drum sampler was designed specifically for musicians and producers seeking an easy to use plug-in that provides uncompromising sound quality and control.
The extensive drag and drop midi library, featuring over 8000 midi files, enables you to create a great drum track in just a few clicks. For more advanced scenarios, you can even control microphone bleed and levels between drums via the internal mixer.
Dual-zone and triple-zone pads The XD60-LE and XD60-USB feature an 8 inch dual-zone snare pad for rim-click and rim shot capability. The XD70-USB and XD80-USB feature an 8 inch triple-zone snare pad and – along with the XD60-USB, a drum rack with mounting hardware (preset for quick setup) whereas the XD60-LE has a small footprint lightweight drum rack with hardware.
The XD60-LE also features three 6 inch single-zone tom pads and three 8 inch cymbals, while the XD60-USB, XD70-USB and XD80-USB models feature three 8 inch single-zone pads and three 12 inch cymbals.
All of Behringer’s e-drum sets feature a multi-pin breakout audio cable snake for easy set up and come with a pair drumsticks plus drum key so you're ready to rock right out-of-the box.
