Gibraltar presented several new and innovative products at the 2011 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Ken Fredenburg, Product Manager Gibraltar Hardware and Gretsch Drums, personally picked out some of the highlights from this year's add-ons to Gibraltar's catalog.

Ken is hosting the following three videos featuring the new 9700 Turning Point hardware series including the swingnuts, the Tier Rack with 9" casters for marching bands and drum corps plus the Quad Mount Platform Stand for drummmers playing on an electronic drum set.
Generally speaking, when asked about their hardware most drummers name two things they don't like. First, mounting cymbals with wing nuts takes time and is frustrating because too often loose them (ever tried to find them again on a dark stage?). Second, the heavy weight of stands.
From Wing Nut to Swing Nut Gibraltar designed the 9700 Turning Point series hardware and solved these two basic problems. They came up with the patented Swing Nut auto cymbal tilter. Just press down on the spring loaded tilter, turn the swing nut, mount the cymbal and felt and that’s it. No wing to lose and it saves you time.
L-stock aluminum stands They also introduced Gibraltar’s Turning Point cymbal tripod base, made from chrome plated L-stock aluminum in a sleek arrow design. It's about 30% lighter than steel. So it gives the stability of double bracing but comes with the weight of a single braced stand. It also features the re-designed 'Super-Lock' hinged height adjustment with no metal to metal contact and wing adjust memory lock.
DCI Tier Rack Gibraltar has decided to get more involved in educational percussion, marching bands and drum corps. Thanks to Gibraltar's new DCI Tier Rack with 9" casters you can get your stuff, set it all up and roll it to wherever you need to. The modular rack design works perfectly for drum corps multi instrument stations providing a lot of mounting options directly to Gibraltar's rack system. A 9" regulation locking caster is mounted directly to the rack, making the entire station mobile. Rack stations break down small for storage and with all Gibraltar mounting accessory options, your sets-up can change as needed. Build set-ups from Gibraltar’s vast selection of rack parts and mounts or use the GRF rolling frame, GRF1T 1st tier and GRF2T 2nd tier pre-packaged racks.
Quad Mount Platform Stand Last but not least is Gibraltar's new Quad Mount Platform Stand. This offer a clean set-up for most electronic drum kits with two stands in stead of a rack. So if you're living in a small appartment where a rack is taking too much floor space or if you prefer the look of a cleaner set-up: these two elliptical leg Quad Mount Platform Stands (7700Q) allow you to mount two electronic tom pads along with two cymbal arms directly from the platform mount of one stand. In addition, the stands accommodate a higher playing platform and are ideal for stand up playing.
