At the 2010 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim (California), Sabian announced its new 21” Vault 3-Point Ride. Based on an idea from Jack DeJohnette, this hand hammered cymbal offers dark, smokey tone with varying sound nuances across three distinct playing surfaces.“My jazz roots continue to dictate the basis of my sounds, but my musical directions are constantly changing, so it’s a matter of holding on to those past sounds that mean the most to me, while riding a cymbal that means most to the music I’m playing today. It’s a challenge, but Sabian can take what I’m asking for and design cymbals that combine vintage and modern… and come up with the Vault 3-Point Ride. Their ability to design sound is what makes Sabian so special”
Added Sabian Master Product Specialist Mark Love:
“Jack DeJohnette is the perfect example of the ever-evolving drummer. Like Sabian, his direction is modern and innovative, but he draws from traditional roots. This Vault 3-Point Ride is a great example of Jack’s ability to dig deep into his history for the raw concept, but then shape that vision into one that frees him up to play a wide range of jazz and world music.”
Available in Natural or optional Brilliant Finish, the Vault 3-Point Ride is hand crafted and hammered from premium Sabian B20 bronze, and is quality protected by the Sabian Two-Year Warranty.
