\"Over-gripping your drum sticks can cause fatigue, stresses and strains and limit arm movement and musicality.\"
Kevin, who also developed the Duallist Drum pedal range, came with the Gig Grips as a solution. They squeeze onto any size stick and cling onto the stick so that the drummer doesn’t have to. The band then slips over a finger or thumb, dependent on playing style. Kevin explains:
\"The looser grip actually improves play, with more dynamics, more momentum resulting in more power, but also controllable and subtle rhythms. They Gig Grips\'re also being used on recording sessions.”
The Gig Grips were developed over a number of years using University research to find the material to be flexible, tough, tight on the stick but smooth on the fingers. According to Kevin, the result is a material based on Military Specification compounds.
