Band of Joy, the group Robert Plant formed with John Bonham before they started Led Zeppelin, will be resurrected although the new project has little in common with the original line-up.

Robert Plant is the only holdover from the little-known blues act, which briefly rocked Birmingham in the late 1960s.
Band of Joy\'s new line-up features Marco Giovino on drums, Byron House on bas, Buddy Miller will play guitar and Patty Griffin will join Robert in vocals. Patty and Buddy co-produced Robert\'s upcoming bluegrass album featuring singer Alison Krauss. In fact, everyone in Band of Joy participated in the recordings.
The former lead vocalist and lyricist of Led Zeppelin will be hitting the road with his Band of Joy for a 12-city North American tour to preview new music, kicking off July 13 in Memphis, Tennessee and ending July 31 in Miami, Florida.
This is Plant\'s first project since his multi-Grammy Award winning collaboration with Alison Krauss on \'Raising Sand\' in 2007, featuring Jay Bellerose on drums.
