About WMC
The World Music Contest (WMC) is internationally recognised as the most significant international festival for music for wind and brass instruments. The WMC is like the Olympic Games for percussion ensembles, marching and show bands.

Every four years, the WMC welcomes tens of thousands of participants from all corners of the globe and hundreds of thousands of visitors, who ensure that Kerkrade becomes the worldwide focus of wind and brass music.

DCI World Championships 2009
In related news: the 2009 Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championships will take place from August 6 - 8, 2009. The upcoming championships are the first ever to be staged in the new Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis, USA. More information at DCI website.
