The Arctic Monkeys, featuring Matt Helders on drums, were the big winners at the Brit Awards 2008. They took home awards in the categories Best Group and Best British Album, for their second release ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’.

Drummer Taylor Hawkins and the other Foo Fighters walked away with the title of Best International Group. They also scooped the Best International Album for \'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace\'.
Sir Paul McCartney received an award for his Outstanding Contribution To Music.
Other winners included Take That, Kate Nash, Mika, Kanye West and Kylie Minogue.
British singer Amy Winehouse wasn\'t nominated but performed live at the Brit Awards 2008 at London’s Earl’s Court venue. It was her first public appearance on stage after she went to rehab in January.
