\"It was a really challenging circumstance. You know, obviously there was a certain expectation given their past, and there were comparisons that were inevitable. All of the things we went through with business and people\'s personal lives, struggles and whatnot, we definitely bonded and grew to respect and trust one another. And I think that that lent itself creatively to when we started working on \'Blackbird\'.\"
Drummer Scott Phillips, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and were all previously in Creed, while Kennedy used to sing in the Mayfield Four.
\'Blackbird\' follows up the band\'s 2004 debut, \'One Day Remains\', and features the single Rise Today.
Scott Phillips is a self-taught drummer, who started playing drums at age eighteen. Scott plays Premier Drums, Zildjian cymbals, Evans heads, Gibraltar hardware, DW pedals, and Scott Phillips signature drum sticks by Vic Firth.
