According to Sonic Syndicate, until 2005 known as Fallen Angels, Kristoffer Bäcklund did not show enough dedication. The band\'s guitarist and songwriter Roger Sjunnesson comments about their decision to sack him:

\"This decision was very hard to make, ultimately came about due to lack of enthusiasm and motivation on his [Kristoffer\'s] side. We came to the conclusion that if we were to continue Sonic Syndicate as a professional band, we had to let him go. The band and Kristoffer are still the best of friends, and the former drummer will always be a huge part of Sonic Syndicate\'s spirit.\"

Sonic Syndicate\'s debut album, \"Eden Fire\", was released in September 2005 through Florida-based record label Pivotal Rockordings.
