The prog rockers will officially gain entry into the Cleveland-based rock shrine on April 18, 2013 after a ceremony in Los Angeles.

The trio will be honored alongside fellow inductees including rock band Heart (featuring sisters lead singer Ann Wilson and guitarist Nancy Wilson), singer-songwriter and pianist Randy Newman, fiery hip hop pioneers Public Enemy, innovative disco queen Donna Summer, influential blues guitarist Albert King plus acclaimed producers Lou Adler, and Quincy Jones.

In 2010 drummer Neil Peart stated to The Canadian Press that he didn't care much about a nomination and induction into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

"No, you know who it matters to, is the fans. It would matter a lot to our fans for us to have that validation. It doesn't matter to me. I've got the success and respect that we've had, and the opportunity to do exactly what we wanted for 35 years, do we need them to make us feel better? No, not at all."

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Deep Purple, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, the Meters, NWA, and Procol Harum were nominated but did not make it to the definite induction this time.
