\"I started at Ontario Music in October of 1979 as a 15 year old kid. I went from janitor to salesman to manager to Vice President. In July of 2004 I purchased the business. I guess you could say I’m living the American Dream.\"
In 1983 Trent was able to combine his background in the music business with his passion for drumming by simultaneously accepting the job of West Coast artist relations assistant for the Ludwig Drum Co. Todd eventually became the worldwide artist relations manager of all Ludwig artists but, after 25 years with the company, he resigned his position to concentrate on the music store full time in 2008.
Using his industry experience and personal contacts with some of the most famous names in drumming, Trent recently turned Ontario Music’s already successful drum department into a full service drum shop. He and his knowledgeable sales staff now handle sales for all major lines of drumsets, world, concert, marching and electronic percussion instruments, parts and accessories as well as rentals, instruction, professional repairs and restoration.
The drum shop conversion was highlighted this past March with a grand opening celebration that featured a huge sale, cymbal polishing service provided by Pro Cymbal and a drum clinic featuring Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot.
Additional special guests included John Aldridge (world famous drum engraver and historian), Jon \"Bermuda\" Schwartz (drummer for \"Weird Al\" Yankovic) and Corey Miller (LA Ink). The event was a smashing success and the clinic was standing room only.
Todd Trent’s Drum Oasis is located at 215 West G Street, Ontario, California 91762. For further information please visit www.ontario-music.com.
