Just a month away from the NAMM Show, Simmons launched the SD1200 Mesh-Head Electronic Drum Kit late October. The module has the 764-sound collection Simmons Signature Sound Library. The smaller kit includes a responsive 12-inch, dual-zone snare, two 8-inch and one 10-inch, dual zone toms, and a 6-inch kick drum.
All drum pads and the kick drum have dual-layered, tension-adjustable mesh heads. The snare drum comes with a completely customizable snare stand. The kick drum comes with a non-slip stand. The new hybrid hex rack with die-cast mounts prevents the drums from slipping when played.
With a $100 difference between the standard and expended version at Guitar Centre, the choice should be easy if you decide to buy the Simmons SD1200.
