It has been less than two years since Vinnie Colaiuta joined Ludwig's artist roster. But it now appears that the iconic drummer is no longer officially endorsing Ludwig drums.
Although there has been no official word on Vinnie leaving Ludwig, a quick look at Vinnie's website shows the Ludwig link removed. And on Ludwig's site Vinnie's name is no longer featured in their artist roster.
At the moment there is no information regarding what brand of drums Vinnie plans to play next. He previously used Gretsch and Yamaha.
Some of the new breed of drummers are not doing endorsements because they want total freedom to play whatever they want for a particular gig. Who knows, perhaps it becomes more standard over the next few years with established drummers like Vinnie following this trend too.
