Former Underoath drummer Aaron Gillespie, currently on the road as touring drummer for Paramore, has joined Vater Percussion's artist family. Aaron, who used to play Pro-Mark sticks, is now using the Vater 2B in Wood Tip model.
Aaron, born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, received a call from Underoath when he was only fourteen years old: the group asked him to play drums for them. He agreed and led Underoath for ten years, including six albums, millions of records sold, two Grammy nominations and countless world tours.
After much consideration Aaron stepped down as the drummer of Underoath in April of 2010.
Aaron fronts his rock band The Almost, which he started in 2007, and who just released their newest album, 'Fear Inside Our Bones' this past June.
He also fronts a solo band and released a solo album in 2011.
Aaron recently joined Paramore as live session drummer, replacing his friend and fellow sticksman Miles McPherson, who was badly hurt in a golf cart accident.
