After several preliminary attempts, Bob settled on a design that combined a heavy-duty yet lightweight material with a spider-like web of super-gripping velcro. This new system not only securely anchored his bass drum and hi-hat pedals, it prevented his entire drumkit from creeping and crawling whenever and wherever he played, it folded up in seconds and it traveled in his bass drum case- allowing Bob to get rid of his bulky drum rug once and for all.

Today, Bob's invention is known as the Black Widow Drum Web and, although it was only introduced at the Winter NAMM SHow in January 2013, it has become a fast selling drum accessories. Perhaps this is due to the fact the 'Widow' is an affordable, easy to use accessory that works for virtually every drummer, every day. Bob Hyams explains:
