"We are very excited to begin working with the Phantom Regiment corps, its members, and staff. The Phantom has maintained a long history of excellence within the drum corps community, and we’re eager to contribute to its successful 2013 drum corps season."
Shane Gwaltney, a long-time Evans artist and the Phantom Regiment percussion arranger, remarks:
"I'm thrilled that my relationship with Evans is expanding to include the Phantom Regiment drumline. Evans heads have the perfect balance of tone, durability and response. It thrills me to know that Regiment will be moving in this direction for 2013."
To perform their best throughout the corps' intense schedule, which includes an annual 60-day national tour, the Phantom Regiment drumline requires great equipment.
Its snare drummers play Evans Hybrid series drumheads that deliver a softer feel with greater sensitivity and a broader dynamic range.
Phantom tenor drummers play EC2 Marching drumheads for a contemporary look and a warm resonance that projects extremely well.
For bass drummers, MX1 bass heads feature a unique tone-damping system that enhances articulation and focuses the critically important low end.
In the front ensemble, the timpanists play Strata series heads for the warm tone, clarity of pitch and articulation that blends beautifully with the rest of the group.
Formed in 1956 in Rockford, Illinois, the Phantom Regiment began as a small, local drum & bugle corps and color guard. Today, they are one of the top groups competing on the DCI World Class circuit.
