Dave Grohl, Nirvana's former drummer and current Foo Fighters frontman, will reportedly reprise his role as a drummer for the film, relieving Dr Teeth and The Electric Mayhem's Animal temporarily while the latter attends anger management classes.

It's part of the plot that centers around the Mupplet clan trying to save their old theatre.

The new film - the first of the Muppets franchise since 1999's Muppets in Space - will be directed by James Bobin.

Dave Grohl is currently working on the new Foo Fighters album and also contributed drums to a track on Michael Jackson's posthumous album 'Michael', which was released earlier in the week.
