The 33-year-old sticks man from Jacksonville, Florida initially suffered from stomach illness. The drummer has since been undergoing a series of tests to determine the seriousness of his condition. Eventually he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Disappointed fans have been told their money will be refunded but no word has come from the band as to whether they will reschedule the show or not.
It remains to be seen how long John Otto will be out of action for and more dates may yet be cancelled.
The rock group is next due to perform in St Petersburg, Russia on October 1.
