Ben has been playing the drum kit since the age of ten. Two years after picking up his first pair of sticks he passed his grade 8 with distinction. Ben is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Saturday school, playing drums and percussion.

The Young Drummer of the Year competition, now in its 8th year, has become an institution amongst upcoming drummers. The finals featured a judging panel with artists such as Ian Paice, Nick Mason and Karl Brazil.
