Vandals in Liverpool have beheaded a hedge sculpture of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. The other members were left intact.

Last January an unfortunate comment from Ringo on Jonathan Ross\'s BBC chat show outraged parts of Liverpool and may have provoked the attack.
Ringo, who appeared on the show a week after launching Liverpool\'s celebrations as the European Capital of Culture, told Jonathan he missed \'nothing\' about the city.
The life-size topiary figures of Liverpool\'s most famous band - which were grown in Tuscany, Italy, from privet - were unveiled last month at Liverpool\'s South Parkway transport interchange. The piece was created by Italian sculptor Franco Covill.
