Multi-platinum alternative rock band The Cult have signed with Roadrunner Records. A new studio album is set for release on September 25, 2007. The cd will be released in conjunction with The Cult\'s imprint label, New Wilderness. The yet-untitled album will feature drummer John Tempesta. He will join the group on tour as well.

John Tempesta previously played with metal bands such as Exodus, Testament and White Zombie. He also played drums with Rob Zombie\'s solo project, Helmet and was guest drummer with Black Label Society, the band featuring Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde.
The Cult\'s first release featuring Tempesta Tempesta has been hitting the skins for The Cult since 2005. The Cult\'s new studio album is the first since 2001 and will also be the band\'s first album to feature Tempesta behind the kit. The release is currently being recorded in London with producer Youth (Verve, Primal Scream), who will be adding final touches and mixing.
The Cult have built an extensive global fan base with hits such as She Sells Sanctuary, Wild Flower, and Love Removal Machine.
On tour with The Who The Cult, led by founding members vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, will embark on a series of European arena shows with rock legends The Who starting June 5. The band will be adding headline dates and festival appearances along the route, building on the overwhelming reaction to their 2006 sell-out world tour. A United States headline tour will follow in the fall.
On Agust 25 John Tempesta will replace Testament drummer Louie Clemente during a show in Bulgaria.
