Drummer Gene Hoglan of Dark Angel, Death and Strapping Young Lad fame among others, is going to finish the recordings for the upcoming debut album from Absentee, the project led by former Mushroomhead frontman J. Mann (aka Jason Popson).\"I\'m using this as an opportunity to work with all the players I\'ve been dying to work with, so I\'m sure it will be a slow and arduous project, but well worth it.\"
His porject Absentee is not to be mistaken with the Londen based group bearing the same name, featuring Jon Chandler on drums.
More news about Gene Hoglan: the drummer will be recording with Dethklok, the band from the animated TV show Metalocalypse. Dethklok\'s debut album, \"DethAlbum\", is set to be released in summer 2007. Hoglan will be recording at the Bomb Shelter Studios in Los Angeles with producer Ulrich Wil at the helm.
