Bart Quartier, vibraphone and marimba virtuoso, recorded his latest compositions at the VRT (Flemish Radio & Television) Studio Toots in Brussels.
The Bart Quartier Quintet play own compositions inspired by Mike Mainieri and the Dave Holland Quintet.
The combination of vibraphone, rhythm section and wind offers many musical possibilities.
The leads are supported by a rhythm section that needs no introduction: bassist Jean-Louis Rassinfosse carries over 30 years of experience under his belt and is solid as a rock.
Jan de Haas is one of Belgium\'s most sought-after drummers. He plays vibe as well. Because he knowns both instruments well, he is \"a dream to play with\", according to Quartier.
The wind section is formed by Bart Defoort and Nico Schepers, both soloists in the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Bart\'s lyrical personality is a perfect mix with Nico\'s energetic style.
The new Bart Quartier Kwintent album will be released by Belgian label De Werf, though a releasdate has not been set at the moment.
