Johnny Jackson, best known as drummer for The Jackson 5, was found slain in Gary, Indiana last Wednesday, March 1, 2006. He was 54 years old.

According to Gary Police spokesman Jack Arnold, the police found Jackson stabbed to death. Officers were called to the house an hour earlier after an upstairs resident of the home heard a disturbance on the first floor between Jackson and a female acquaintance.
Because of the commotion, the witness went downstairs to check on the situation and discovered Jackson unresponsive with a stab wound to his chest.
Johnny Jackson joined The Jackson 5 in 1967, replacing original sticksman Milford Hite.
More recently Jackson had been playing in reggae outfit White Dove.
Reports conflict on whether Johnny Jackson was related to Gary\'s legendary Jackson family, which includes pop stars Michael and Janet.
