Bill Lynn (foto), who played drums with Elvis Presley, passed away in Colombia last Thursday, January 6, 2006. He died due to an affection of his lungs. Lynn was 73 years old.

The drummer died at home in Villa de Leyva. He owned the pub Legends and Superstars, stacked with Elvis memorabilia.
Bill Lynn was born in Bogota, but grew up op in the United States. He formed his first band at age 11.
In the early sixties Bill Lynn did a lot of studio work as staff drummer with ABC Paramount Records in Nashville. He was also drummer in The Ringers.
Bill Lynn played with Presley on hits like It\'s Now Or Never (1960) and worked with Elvis in many of his movies, including “Speedway” and “Easy Come Easy Go”. The drummer stayed with Elvis until 1970, but did not get as famous as other Elvis drummers like DJ Fontana and Hal Blaine.
Bill Lynn went on to record with other artists, and became marketing director of the Elvis Presley Museum in 1980. After sixteen years as marketing director, Bill became a businessman running his own company, American & Country Music Holidays. He also continued playing rock \'n\' roll. On November 25, 2005 Bill played live in Bogota. It was his last show.
