Veteran drummer Omar Hakim, who has drummed with Michael Jackson, Madonna, Dire Straits and Sting among many others, stepped in for Deen Castronovo on Journey's Hollywood Bowl show on Saturday. He will also play drums for the rest of the band's North American tour.
Omar Hakim was asked to step in following the arrest of Deen Castronovo (50) last weekend. Although released on bail, Journey - in the middle of a tour- decided to pull the rip chord due to Deen's pending issues.
It's unclear if Deen, who has been with Journey since 1998 when he replaced Steve Smith, is out of the band permanently.
