Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith will be honored for his work with children's music charities, to which he has devoted increasing amounts of time in recent years.
The drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be celebrated at the Little Kids Rock Family Jam on May 16, 2015 at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
The inaugural Family Jam is a family-friendly fundraiser that will rock your socks off and help keep music education in schools in the Untied States.
Chad Smith will join local Little Kids Rock students for inspiring musical performances, in addition to local bands Coverflow, Scope Creep and Next Play. In addition, Chad will be given the Livin' the Dream' Award in memory of Facebook's executive chef Josef Desimone.
Metallica's frontman James Hetfield was given the award in 2014. The event, which featured a star-studded rendition of Enter Sandman by James Hetfield, famed drummer Jeff Campitelli and local students among others, raised more than $225,000 to restore and revitalize music education programs in Bay Area public schools.
