The flamboyant musician, known for his sens of humor, angered fans at a drum workshop earlier this week in Belo Horizonte when he was presented a Flamengo shirt on stage but wiped his behind with the club's jersey.

Chad was initially jeered by the audience when he received the jersey, but they boo'ed when he desecrated the shirt when he shoved it down the back of his pants, pretending to wipe his backside with it.

One unruly fan even threw something on stage, nearly hitting the drummer on his head. Aparently, some things are not to be joked about.

The incident was filmed and put on YouTube. It didn't take long before angry football fans wrote death threats in the comments section of page where the video was posted.

However, Chad has now stressed that he regrets his action by stating:

"I want to apologise for my inappropriate antics at the drum clinic. My joke about team rivalries went too far. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo fans... I'm sorry."
