"RIP Alan Myers. One of my all time favs. An underrated/brilliant drummer. Such an honor playing his parts w/Devo. Godspeed Human Metronome."
In addition, the band's co-founder Gerald Casale payed tribute to Alan, calling him "the most incredible drummer I had the privilege to play with for 10 years":
"Alan, you were the best - a human metronome and then some. A once in a lifetime find thanks to Bob Mothersbaugh. U were born to drum Devo!"
Alan joined Devo in 1976 to replace Bob Mothersbaugh. After leaving Devo in 1985, Alan remained active on the LA music scene, playing with several local bands including Babooshka, Skyline Electric and more recently Swahili Blonde, whose line-up features his daughter Laena Myers-Ionita.
