The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) has banned 16-time world solo pipe band drumming champion Jim Kilpatrick from competitions for three months.
Jim posted a message on facebook about the results his band, The House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band, got at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, UK in June, calling the event "one of the most predicable shaftings on the calendar".
The RSPBA ruled this to be a criticism of the judges and decided to sanction the drummer.
In the video below, Jim Kilpatrick discusses his suspension by the RSPBA, stating:
"There was no way that these comments were meant to hurt any individual or any association or any other member of the other bands competing. "
