Trigger I/O percussion interface
Alesis also introduced the Trigger I/O percussion interface. You can place the intuitive, cross-platform interface on traditional acoustic percussion sources (such as drum heads or cymbals) or electronic drum pad triggers and convert them into MIDI note messages. With MIDI and USB 1.1 Plug and Play connectivity and ten inputs, you can expand performance options exponentially – playing sounds on synths, drum modules, or even a computer. Says Alesis CEO Jack O’Donnell:
\"The introduction of the Trigger I/O is another example of our leading the way in the High-Tech Revolution. We’re constantly redefining music technology – not only for percussionists, but also for all musicians and producers. Anyone can now effectively incorporate computers, samplers, and synthesizers into their live performances and studio recording sessions, with one powerful tool: the Trigger I/O.\"
The Trigger I/O\'s dual zone inputs select two different surface areas of the percussion instrument. For example, hit the center of the snare and it reproduces flawlessly, and a rim shot still cracks like a rim shot. These zone inputs are fully compatible with acoustic and pad triggers from most popular manufacturers.
Don\'t miss a beat
Whenever a perfect sound combination is found, the Trigger I/O has 20 programmable presets to store and recall settings in an instant. A hi-hat input lets musicians switch effortlessly between on/off and continuous control modes, while the unique up/down footswitch input selects kits remotely, without ever missing a beat.
Custom your trigger settings
The Trigger I/O may be muscular, but it’s also quick and responsive, featuring trigger settings that are fully customizable for sensitivity. Users can assign MIDI Channels, note numbers, crosstalk, velocity curve, threshold settings, retrigger times, and pad types. The Trigger I/O even has mounting holes for an optional drum stand, so it’s at home in any environment.
