Legendary Manchester, UK band Happy Mondays have reunited for Uncle Dysfunktional (Sequel/Sanctuary), their first new studio album since 1992. Due out 02 July, the album marks the triumphant return of singer Shaun Ryder, dancer Bez, and drummer Gaz Whelan. The album is produced by Sonny Levine (son of Simply Red / Sly And The Family Stone producer Stewart Levine and grandson of music icon Quincy Jones) and mixed by Bjork and U2 producer Howie B.
The Happy Mondays will launch a UK tour – their first since 2000 – in September, bringing the up-and-coming Leeds band The Sunshine Underground as openers.
