In 2005 the Cubop City Big Band celebrated its 10 year existance through a series of 'Latin Explosion' concerts. />
Among others, Lilian Vieira (Brasil) and Izaline Calister (Curaçao) were invited as special guests for these jubilee shows. These fabulous singers brought some exiting and new material from their own musical backgrounds to the band.
As a result, here's a fresh mix of Brasilian and Antillian music mixed with the Cuban mambo, salsa and latin jazz repertoire the Cubop City Big Band normally is associated with.
Fortunately, some of these 'special occasion' concerts were recorded live and are now presented to you on this CD.
