This CD was released in the winter of 1994 and was my first recording as a leader.
The music on this project could be discribed as Fusion /Globaljazz ( all original music ). It is a mixture of jazz, rock, latin and African music with a strong melodic/harmonic stucture and different layers of rhythms. I played drums, percussion and additional keyboards and programmed some of the sequencer stuff. The tunes are written and arranged by myself except for two; Going Out was co-written with guitarist Herbie Guldenaar and Blue Forest was arranged by pianist Michel Bisceglia.
Andy Middleton (USA), sopr.+ tenor saxophones.
Andy and I met in 1992 while on tour with an international band featuring trumpeter Randy Brecker. Andy has several solo recordings out himself. Check them out!
Michel Bisceglia (Belgium), piano+ synth.
A longtime friend of mine and a great keyboardplayer. His first recording as a leader is out on BMG, called " About Stories" feat. Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer.
Roman Korolik (Belgium), six-string bass.
We have been playing together since 1990 in all kinds of musical settings. He is a real virtuoso on his instrument.
Christoph Eidens (Germany), vibes + marimba.
I met Chris also while on tour with Brecker. We have a band called " Mallet Madness". It's vibes, marimba, double bass and drums. Listen to his record "Camaroon Dance" on Laika Records.
Herbie Guldenaar (Netherlands), guitar.
We used to play in a fusion band called "Zip code", He writes great tunes and he encouraged me to write my own stuff.
Angelo Biscegla (Belgium), guitar.
Michel's brother. We played in Jo Lemaire's band together.
The recording was done in Studio Crescendo, Genk, Belgium and engineered by owner Pino Guarraci.
