This is my second one and features Andy Middleton on tenor and soprano saxophones. Global/Ethnic/Swing-Hop/Funky/Fusion are some words to label the music if you like.
It's about deep rhythm, rich harmony, stong melodies and a plain view on music!
The tunes are written by pianist Wilbert Kivits and myself , except for one song: "My Secret Love", which is an old jazz-standard / traditional.
Wilbert did a great arrangement on that one. In fact, he did almost all the arranging on this recording. I did " Home Town" and a couple of tunes we did together.
As for the music, we tried to not make a "drum" record but then again incorporated alot of drums and percussion. There's even a drumsolo (oops...!). I am very happy with the result of writting, arranging and playing we achieved on PLAIN VIEW, hope you listeners like it too!
