Dark Intentions comment: The whole demo was recorded by ourselves. We wanted to see, if we could do a decent production without going to a studio. Well, let's say we learned a lot!
We started off in October 2003 in the copyshop of Vic's dad (for a nice and big sound) to record the drumparts with some rented microphones and a borrowed harddiskrecorder.
We set up and tracked the drums in about an hour or three without a clicktrack
(which we will use next time:D).
A week or two later it was time to do the guitar-, bass- and vocalparts in two days at our rehearsalspace in Breda.
Two days and twelve hours of work later Theo could start mixing our demo. Due to software-related problems the mixingprocess got delayed a couple of weeks again, only to find out that all parts that were recorded in our rehearsalspace were pretty much useless because of bad acoustics and microphone-problems. Thanks to the microphones that Stefan BFP lent us, Theo, Remko and Jakob could start laying down their tracks at Theo's place with the proper mikes. The neighbors were less amused ;-)
After that, Marty could start redoing the vocals at Theo's place around March 2004. We also recorded the backing vocals on the same day with the help of our friend Wilco.
The final mixing- and masteringprocess could finally start. For about a month Theo used every amount of spare time he had to mix and master the demo with the help of Daniël and Leon for constant feedback.
