Core musicians
Cheikh Lô – lead vocals, harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion, and principal songwriter. The album grew out of home demos he recorded himself.
Thierno Sarr – bass player and owner of the Dakar home studio where the original recordings were made.

Featured guests
Tony Allen – drums on selected tracks. Allen, famous for his work with Fela Kuti, added overdubs in London after the original Dakar sessions.
Pee Wee Ellis – saxophone.

Recording and production
Recorded initially as stripped-down demos in Dakar at Thierno Sarr's home studio.
Produced by Nick Gold and Cheikh Lô.
A full-band studio version was attempted, but Gold and Lô ultimately preferred the intimate home-recorded takes, adding only selected overdubs from guests such as Tony Allen and Pee Wee Ellis.
