Love Dub (originally released in 1990) is a critical archival dub album because it provides the stripped-down, heavyweight versions of the band's earliest and most foundational recordings. It is primarily composed of dubs from the Love Crisis (1977) sessions, which were the first recordings to feature the Michael Rose-led lineup. 

The Musicians

The core rhythm section consists of the Sly & Robbie duo, who were then part of the Revolutionaries, the house band at Channel One Studio: 

• Sly Dunbar: Drums.


• Robbie Shakespeare: Bass.


• Winston Wright: Organ, Clavinet, and Harpsichord.


• Gladstone Anderson: Piano.


• Radcliffe "Dougie" Bryan: Rhythm Guitar.


• Earl "Chinna" Smith: Lead Guitar.


• Noel Scully Sims: Percussion.


• Horns: Bobby Ellis (Trumpet), Headley Bennett (Saxophone), and Cedric Brooks (Saxophone). 

Production & Mixing
The album's unique sonic character is due to the heavy involvement of Prince Jammy:
