The little character that I created as the front cover image for this body of work represents that part of me that looks for sonics that have not been heard before. Countless hours were spent in my laboratory processing hand played instruments and source vocals to build a symphonic blend of animal and human sounds. Sioux Lookout represents a modern native cry calling for balance. The End is my apocalyptic mélange driven by the drumming of Brian Blade. Forest City revisits my work with Brian Eno.
To take a listener on a sonic journey has always been my quest, for the listener to feel something they’ve never felt before would be the ultimate compliment. Rocco Deluca provides vocal sources, Brian Blade plays the drums, Hanan Townsend is on piano for
Rocco and Chris Thomas play’s the bass on My First Love.
Alex Krispin co-produced this record with me and Adam Samuels edited and mastered.
Thanks to my Toronto team: Wayne Lorenz at Temple Studio, Seth Loeser,
and to Margaret Marissen for her graphic work to my front cover image. Also to my L.A. team: Andy Kaulkin and all the folks at Anti Records.
